BELFAST -- As housing costs continue to be a struggle for Mainers, some trailer parks in Belfast are seeing major rent increases.

In Belfast, one mobile home park in particular has seen rent increases every year since 2020.

Seacoast village residents that moved in during that time now have to pay nearly $300 more in rent. And that doesn’t include utilities.

“A couple months ago we got notice that the rents were going up to $600 beginning August first, and then I think in the same letter they let us know that each property, each owner, would have to mow their own lawn," says Sharon Davenport, Seacoast Village resident.

She says that lawns and plowing used to be done for them. But not anymore.

According to residents, almost half of the people that live in the trailer park are retired,
