The “Fury” is gone but the “Flight” has just begun.
On Friday, Niagara Parks opens its new $25-million attraction at Table Rock, Niagara Takes Flight.
Two years in the making, it replaces the Niagara’s Fury attraction, which closed last Labour Day after 17 years of operation.
The sleek new ride simulates flying over various Niagara landmarks while patrons are seated in front of a 180-degree, 17-metre-wide domed screen. The seating suspends riders in the air, giving the illusion of soaring up and down across the falls, battlefields and other attractions.
Niagara Parks chief executive officer David Adames said the ride completes a $55-million revamp of Table Rock over the past few years. The second level has been completely redesigned with new washrooms, a gift shop and a scenic entrance
