SOUTHWEST COLORADO (KREX) — Starting on Tuesday, road closures will occur on US Highway 550 or Red Mountain Pass, on Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Sept. 18. for power line reconstruction.

San Miguel Power Association will work on the north side of the Red Mountain Pass from Ironton Park to south of Ouray.

While travelling, motorists will encounter full traffic stops at: • Northbound traffic from Silverton will stop at the north end of Ironton Park at Mile Point 87.5. • Southbound traffic from Ouray will stop at Bear Creek Falls Overlook or Mile Point 90. • A limited number of vehicles and trailers will be able to use the unloading area at the US 550 and CR 18 intersection for crew equipment.
