DOVER, Ohio — Police in Dover have lifted a shelter-in-place order they now say was triggered by a fake "swatting" call to the East Front Street area Thursday night.

In a press release, officials said the department received a call just after 7 p.m. reporting "that multiple subjects had been injured" inside an East Front Street home. This led to authorities activating a shelter-in-place warning for Canal Road and East Front Street as SWAT officers responded and law enforcement cleared the surrounding residences in the neighborhood.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the owner of the house was the only one who lived there, and that the call did not come from his number. In fact, he was at work and eventually confirmed to police he was fine, and authorities concluded that
