CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – West Texas A&M University is receiving a Multipurpose Tornado-Safe Building & Shelter upon FEMA approval after the Texas A&M University Board of Regents approved the 2026–2030 System Capital Plan.

Texas A&M University officials stated that the 2026–2030 System Capital Plan is a $6.6 billion roadmap that includes $1.925 billion in new proposed projects over the next five years and authorizes up to $83.1 million for 2026 pre-construction activities. The Texas A&M System will initiate $830.6 million in projects.
