(WJW) -- A man was caught on camera placing drugs into two teenage girls' Dairy Queen desserts, North Carolina police said in a statement.
The grandfather — identified as 66-year-old James Yokeley Jr., who was up until recently the chair of the Surry County Board of Elections — was taken into custody and charged with the following: contaminating food with a controlled substance, felony child abuse and possession of a narcotic, according to Wilmington police.
Police said they were flagged them down at a Sheetz on Aug. 3, and Yokeley said his granddaughters had found "hard objects" in their Blizzard ice cream treats from a nearby Dairy Queen. The girls were treated by medical personnel, but it turned out they had not ingested what app
