BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — International travelers in Birmingham will soon have the chance to sign up for Global Entry, a program through U.S. Customs and Border Protection that allows expedited entry into the U.S. when returning from a trip abroad.
Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport will have a room set up on the lower level of the airport Sept. 7-20. Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection will conduct the interview required to obtain Global Entry.
“What we’re doing for two weeks in September is we’re offering that one on one interview so there will be Custom and Border Protection Officers here on site for a two-week period where people can come in complete their enrollment for Global Entry,” said Kim Hunt, vice president of communications for the Birmingham Airport
