NORMAN — Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables has agreed to a $1 million pay cut for the 2025 season, USA Today reported Friday .
An OU athletics department spokesperson told USA Today that Venables made a “one-time give-back to contribute to the department’s revenue sharing efforts.”
Venables was slated to make $8.55 million this season, but now he’ll make $7.55 million.
According to USA Today, which obtained an updated copy of Venables’ contract, the other terms of his contract remain unchanged.
His deal still runs through Jan. 31, 2030, and he will make $8.65 million for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, then $8.75 million for 2028 and $8.85 million for 2029.
