REDDING, Calif. — Redding Police arrested two people on Thursday during a traffic stop for fentanyl trafficking and firearms possession.
Redding police officials stated that Neighborhood Police Unit officers stopped 27-year-old Redding man Anthony Cloyd and 28-year-old Redding woman Cassi Rayner Near Interstate 5 and Knighton Road. A search of their vehicle uncovered about one ounce of fentanyl.
Arresting officers reported that during Cloyd and Rayner’s drive to Shasta County Jail, Rayner attempted to destroy another ounce of fentanyl she had hidden.
Officers say they searched the suspects' home and found three guns, including a Tech-9, along with live ammunition and evidence of narcotics sales.
