After 30 years of "vision, prayer and persistence," the doors of the Semiahmoo Peninsula's long-awaited Catholic high school are about to open.
Saint John Paul II Academy, at 2358 182 St., will welcome its first students on Sept. 3.
And to celebrate the historic milestone, the St. John Paul II Foundation and the academy are inviting supporters, families and parishioners to a barbecue and open house at the campus, 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facility, including the gymnasium, athletic field, classrooms, and breakout spaces.
