ATHENS, Ga. — University of Georgia Police said a preliminary investigation into reports of an armed shooter on campus suggests it's a hoax.
Police said at around 8:51 p.m., officers received a call of a shooter in the area of UGA's main library.
At around 10:40 p.m., UGA Police sent out an all-clear alert to students regarding the situation.
Similar incidents have occurred at university and college campuses across the country.
