ANDERSON, Texas (KBTX) - The Crawford Pirates held Anderson-Shiro Owls scoreless in week one, 19-0.

Why did Crawford win? Crawford had control of possession throughout a majority of the first-half. Penalties against Crawford pushed them in bad field position.

Standout performance: Crawford quarterback Jackson Huey made sure to keep the Pirates in control of possession. His touchdown pass to Caleb Minninx set the tone of the game.

What’s next? Anderson-Shiro (0-1) will be on the road to face Luling Sept. 5.
