STANTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An employee at a Kentucky jail is behind bars and accused of inappropriate conduct with another inmate inside jail walls.

In a release, the Powell County Detention Center says Samantha Catron was taken into custody on Saturday morning and charged with sodomy.

An arrest citation says that while working, Catron was captured on surveillance video having “deviate sexual intercourse” with another inmate at the jail.

Police say Catron admitted to the act during a taped interview.

“It is always the foremost goal of the Powell County Detention Center to ensure the safety and ethical treatment of our residents,” said Jailer Teddy Lacy. “That goal is reflected in the conduct of our staff and extends equally to independent contractors who work inside our facility.”
