Eastern North Carolina is enjoying a refreshing break as high pressure takes charge. This cooler, drier air mass is delivering some of the most comfortable mornings we’ve seen in weeks, with lows dipping into the 50s inland and 60s along the coast. Some inland communities, especially near rivers and sounds, could see patchy fog during the early morning hours, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling around sunrise.

Through the rest of the week, expect sunshine to dominate with highs in the upper 70s along the Outer Banks and low to mid 80s inland. Humidity levels will stay low, making for perfect afternoons to be outside. A few isolated showers may try to pop along the sea breeze Thursday and Friday, but most of us stay dry.
