LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The city of Lincoln announced that Heat Pump Incentives will again be available beginning Monday.
The city of Lincoln and Lincoln Electric System developed the incentive program to make energy-efficient heating and cooling systems more affordable and accessible for residents.
“Compared to a conventional air conditioner and furnace, a heat pump with backup heat typically has a higher upfront installation cost but they can potentially offer long-term savings on energy bills,” said an LES spokesperson. “The total cost difference over the lifespan of the equipment is influenced by your usage patterns, current heating fuel, and energy rates. The greatest bill savings occur when a home with electric resistance heat upgrades to a heat pump, replacing an air conditioner. H
