In school buildings across Macomb County, it’s that time of year for the scent of freshly cleaned classrooms and optimism over the approaching academic year.
Joe DiPonio knows it well.
After 32 years in education, including the past 10 as superintendent of Lake Shore Public Schools, he feels it.
“Every first day is a new beginning with an energy of super excitement,” Di Ponio said. “This year will be no different.”
That’s because the north St. Clair Shores community will formally unveil renovations at Rodgers Elementary School to the community on Monday.
