UNIONDALE, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Queens man is accused of starting a fire at a Long Island laundromat and blocking the entrance, according to authorities.

Officers responded to the reported fire at Prendi Laundromat in Uniondale at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nassau County Police said.

After investigation, police determined that a man had set a poster on fire near the front entrance of the building and blocked the door. A 53-year-old woman inside put out the fire and called 911. The man then fled the laundromat.

A short time later, officers found 31-year-old Curtis Desir, of Richmond Hill, and arrested him without incident, according to police.

Desir was charged with arson and unlawful imprisonment.
