A road rage incident over Labor Day weekend resulted in shots fired on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Westborough.

State police say troopers were notified of a road rage incident that occurred around 7:15 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 90, in which the reporting party said a person in another vehicle shot at them, resulting in a visible bullet hole in their car.

The shooter fled from the scene, according to police, who said the victim exited I-90 into the Westborough Service Plaza where they were met by troopers and confirmed they did not need medical attention.

Troopers secured the damaged vehicle as evidence to conduct further analysis as part of this ongoing investigation.
