Broken streetlights raise safety concerns in College Area neighborhood

A college area neighborhood has been in the dark for several months.

Concerned neighbors say the lights went out on multiple streets and their get it done requests are taking too long to fix the issue.

If you’re a pedestrian not wearing reflective gear, it’s nearly impossible to be seen.

“I love sitting in my living room.” Jim Jennings said.

Jennings has been living in the college area for about 25 years.

“My living room has this beautiful window…I call it my window to the world,” he said.

Over the years he’s seen a lot of things in his neighborhood.

“We see students on their skateboards, it’s just very diverse,” Jennings said.

“You never know what you’re going to see out this window,” Jennings said.
