BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene of a shooting around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1.

Upon arrival, they found a man who sustained gunshot wounds.

BRPD said the shooting victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

They said the shooter fled the scene. Police are searching for a motive and suspect in connection with this shooting.

Multiple BRPD units were observed at the scene along with police tape.

One vehicle at the shooting scene appeared to have bullet holes in it.
