AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A Saturday night shooting near the University of Akron sent hospitalized two people, police confirmed.

The Akron Police Department said officers were sent to the 500 block of East Exchange Street for shots fired at approximately 11:43 p.m. on Aug. 30.

Officers arrived to find the 19-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the parking lot, according to APD.

EMS took him to the hospital, but APD did not share his condition.

The 18-year-old woman who was also shot was taken to the hospital as well, stated APD.

APD did not state if any suspects have been identified or arrested.
