ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Asheville Police Department is looking for a convicted felon charged with shooting a man.
Police said Juan Francisco Martinez Jr., 36, is being charged with shooting a man in the leg following a verbal altercation that escalated into a fight shortly after midnight on Saturday.
Following an investigation, detectives charged Martinez, who has open warrants for the following:
Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury
Assault by pointing a gun
Firearm by felon
Detectives said they are actively looking for Martinez, who is described as being five feet, seven inches tall and around 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Martinez is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
