CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Clemson’s Police Chief gave an update on the Tigers’ first regular season football game with alcohol sales.

The Tigers’ game against LSU on Saturday was the first time fans were able to buy alcoholic drinks inside memorial stadium.

During this week’s city council meeting, councilmembers asked the police chief if there were more issues because of alcohol sales. He said it’s hard to tell because they can’t tell if people are getting intoxicated inside or outside of the game.

“Drinking alcohol has been synonymous with all of those sporting events for so long, how can I tell if the person is more intoxicated because they were drinking at the game versus going to a tailgate spot and doing six shots and then walking down the street,” the chief said.
