FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Purdue Fort Wayne will now help with safe drug disposal year-round.
Previously, the university participated in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day each spring, allowing students, employees, and others to dispose of unneeded medications. The day is meant to help prevent drug misuse and opioid addiction.
PFW Officer Dave Herbst and Eric Manor, associate chief of campus and community wellbeing, began discussing what was needed to offer drug disposal on campus throughout the year and established a permanent drop-off location on PFW’s Main Campus. The secured collection bin is located outside the front door of the police office in the Support Services Building, which is number 11 on the map below.
