STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) β€” The Powerball is up to an estimated $1.1 billion, the fifth highest in its history.

The Powerball got this high after there were no winning tickets drawn on Aug. 30 for the $1 billion grand prize. The winner will be able to choose between a lump sum of nearly $500 million, or a series of smaller payments over 30 years – both before taxes.

WTAJ asked some people around State College what they would do with the money if they won.

"Well, my kids would never work again. My grandkids would have legacy wealth," Leanne Martell, a Philipsburg resident, said.

"If that happened, I'd probably buy a yacht," Penn State Student Brandon Hurley said. "Definitely would move down to North Carolina, and probably give some money back to the college."
