MOORHEAD — The Powerball jackpot has risen to $1.1 billion ahead of Monday night’s Sept. 1 drawing, marking the fifth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.
One of the area’s “lucky” spots has been the M&H gas station on Main Avenue in Moorhead, which sold a $28 million winning ticket in 1998, among other million-dollar winners.
Store manager Jesse Joy said even on Labor Day, they have been busy with customers buying tickets, which has also boosted business for the store’s in-house restaurant.
"Very exciting. Absolutely. Business is business, sales are sales... so as much as we can get. That's great. It draws everybody in. Everybody's excited. It's, it's fun," said Joy.
Monday night’s drawing will be held at 9:59 p.m.
