Oscar nominated actor Graham Greene has died aged 73. ‌

His agent, Michael Greene, confirmed the Green Mile star died in hospital with his wife by his side. ‌

In a statement, he said: "He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed. You are finally free." ‌

And referencing his former agent, he added: "Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven." However, his cause of death has not been revealed.

Greene’s big breakthrough came when Kevin Costner cast him as Kicking Bird (Ziŋtká Nagwáka), one the main characters in Dances with Wolves.
