A local Boy Scout continues to be honored after saving a young boy’s life.

Shepler has been a Boy Scout for nine years.
“Jacob is quiet, helpful, and friendly,” George Caldwell, Shepler’s and Delmont Troop 211 Scout Master, said. “Jacob can be like a big brother. There are some scouts that are younger in our troop that look up to him.”
He has become skilled in areas such as model design and graphic arts. He’s also in some more serious scenarios.
“I worked on emergency preparedness for a while,” Shepler said. “How to have a plan on how to get out of an emergency.”
