CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - For University of Charleston soccer player and Australian native Kate Duffy, giving back to her home away from home is rewarding -- especially to those in need.
“It really is amazing to be able to help out a community that’s giving me so much and so many opportunities,” Duffy said.
While many students and teachers across the Tri-State are out of the classroom, University of Charleston students rolled up their sleeves for the community for their annual Labor of Love Service Day.
“Just gives us great pride as a university to do so much impactful work in the place that we call home, ” UC President Marty Roth said.
Roth said the UC Task Force Team organized nearly 50 community service projects, which include landscaping, cleaning, meal prepping, food distribution
