NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor a tropical wave in the far eastern tropical Atlantic south of the Cabo Verde Islands that now has upped chances for formation.

According to the NHC, the "tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms" along with seeing environmental conditions that are conducive for gradual development.

Its being forecasted that a tropical depression could form by either the middle or latter part of this weekend as this system moves westward to west-northwestward at 15-mph.

Formation chances are 10% over the next 48-hours and upped to 60% over the next 7-days.
