TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Five people are in the hospital after street racing ended in a crash in Tempe on Monday night.
According to police, a motorcycle rider and a Ford Mustang driver were racing on Rio Salado Parkway heading west when the driver couldn’t make the turn and crashed east of Rural Road around 8:30 p.m.
All five people inside the Mustang were thrown from the sports car. They were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
The motorcyclist returned to the scene after the crash.
