NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - The Powerball jackpot prize is still on the rise after no ticket matched all six numbers following Monday night’s $1.1 billion drawing.
An estimated $1.3 billion is now on the line for the next drawing on Wednesday.
WITN spoke with Powerball optimists ahead of Monday’s drawing, with many hoping to beat the 1 in 292.2 million odds.
For Super Stop employee Shirley Berry, she’s dreaming big and joining in on the rush, buying two tickets for herself.
Berry plans on buying a new home if her numbers hit, and she’s not alone in fantasizing about life after a billion-dollar win.
“Well, I’ll stop working for one. I might come in and help a little bit every now and then. But yeah, finish taking care of my husband,” Berry said.
