PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in Palmer have arrested a homicide suspect wanted in Mississippi during a routine traffic stop on Monday night.

The Palmer Police Department states that 55-year-old George Mabrey of Arizona was pulled over at about 9:30 p.m. on S. Main Street for a stop sign violation and was subsequently identified as being wanted on two counts of homicide by motor vehicle in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The Hattiesburg Police Department told 22News that on August 2nd, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., officers were sent to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 northbound near the 66-mile marker. One person was injured and airlifted from the accident. Two others were injured and were taken to a local hospit
