Plans to boost the facilities at the long-standing Ferguslie Cricket Club in Paisley have landed the green light from Renfrewshire Council. ‌

An application for planning permission to introduce a clubhouse with changing rooms, showers, a toilet and social space at the site in Corsebar Road has been granted, subject to conditions. ‌

The building will be situated to the south of the Meikleriggs cricket pitch on the northern edge of a disused tennis court which is now largely covered by trees. ‌

A report of handling explained: "[It] would lie perpendicular to an existing pavilion which is situated at the south-east corner of the cricket pitch and which backs on to Corsebar Road to the east.
