LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - LISD went back to the regularly scheduled program when it came to their school board meetings.

The biggest discussion topic on the evening of August 14, happened to be on viewing and looking to make a change on the eligibility regarding the status for valedictorian and salutatorian.

EIC (Local) states the following to be eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian honors:

• The valedictorian and salutatorian shall be the eligible students with the highest and second highest rank, respectively.

• Have been continuously enrolled in the same high school in the district for the four semesters immediately preceding graduation.

• Be graduating after exactly eight semesters of enrollment in high school.

• Have completed the foundation program with the distinguished leve
