LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Earlier this afternoon, UISD announced their appointment for a new principal at LBJ High School.

The district was proud to announce that they appointed Roberto G. Ortiz as the new principal. Ortiz happens to have three decades of experience when it comes to the field of education.

Ortiz has been a part of the UISD family for 32 years and was most recently the principal of Juarez-Lincoln Elementary at D.D. Hachar, where he was beginning his 12th year of leadership.

In his 12 years, Juarez-Lincoln earned five Texas Education Agency Distinctions, was recognized as a Title I High Progress School, and is currently rated an “A” campus by the TEA.
