The Smoke ‘N’ Spurs team has come out on the defensive after several people were injured during an ATV competition in Mattawa last weekend.
The organizing committee issued a statement Tuesday stating they consulted with Ontario Provincial Police following the collision and mentioned doing a breathalyzer test on the driver just to make sure.
“We suggested doing that for all drivers just to absolutely make sure that that wouldn’t be a concern moving forward with the event,” the release stated.
“OPP agreed it was a good idea and so all drivers were tested before the event continued.”
The committee stated safety is their main concern.
