GREENLAND, N.H. —

New Hampshire transportation officials hope an upcoming project will help keep people safe along a dangerous section of Interstate 95.

The Department of Transportation said about 85,000 to 100,000 people travel every day along a 5-mile stretch of I-95 where several deadly crashes have occurred, and the hope is that adding barriers to the area will make things safer for those drivers.

"We're moving this as quickly as we can," said Executive Councilor Janet Stevens.

More than 21,000 feet of cable barriers, 11,000 feet of guardrail and 700 feet of concrete barriers will be installed in that stretch of I-95.
