LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - One of the nation’s oldest League of United Latin American Citizens councils has announced the honorees for its annual Tejano Achievers awards.

LULAC Council No. 12 has recognized local leaders since 1995, honoring entrepreneurs, public servants, and officials who have made significant contributions in their fields.

This year’s honorees include Ricardo Kissi, Roberto Perez, Laredo Police Chief Miguel Rodriguez, and City Councilmember Melissa Cigarroa, among others.

Cigarroa, who represents District 3, said she was honored to be recognized for environmental stewardship.
