FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Northeastern REMC’s Operation Round Up program is helping two Whitley County organizations.

The electric company’s program is a voluntary program that allows customers to round their monthly electric bill up to the nearest dollar, with the extra change pooled together to support local nonprofit organizations. It has provided more than $130,000 in community support over the years.

Recently, it awarded $3,000 in grants to The Center for Whitley County Youth and Grace Lutheran Food Pantry .

The Center for Whitley County Youth, which offers students consistent academic support, mentorship, and community connection, will use funding to purchase academic materials, engagement tools, meals, and more. Grace Lutheran Food Pantry will use its funds to purchase vouche
