INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WPTA) - Attorneys for the man convicted in the Delphi murders case are asking for more time to file an appeal.
A jury found Richard Allen guilty last year of murdering 13-year-old Abigail “Abby” Williams and 14-year-old Liberty “Libby” German in 2017. Special Judge Fran Gull, an Allen County judge, sentenced him to the maximum sentence of 130 years.
The appeal is due next week.
However, Allen’s attorneys say they need an extension to go through the evidence in the case.
They also say moving Allen from Indiana to an Oklahoma prison has made it more difficult to meet with him.
