A solicitor seriously wounded in a Sydney underbelly ambush in May has been hit with a series of charges, including kidnapping, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and directing a criminal group.
Sylvan Singh, 25, was shot during a targeted shooting in Granville on May 25 which killed Alameddine criminal gang associate Dawood Zakaria, 32.
Singh survived the attack and was taken to hospital with multiple wounds.
Police said the victims of the shooting were in a Toyota Hilux when they were ambushed by occupants of a Mercedes, who fired several rounds - hitting the driver and front passenger.
Zakaria was shot in the head during what police allege was a targeted drive-by attack on Church Street in Granville and later died in hospital.
