WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - We are just three days away from week one, as our high school football previews take us to one of the most talented squads in the state.
Led by head coach Steve Martin since 2012, the Northwest Grizzlies could not be in better shape to go after the 6A title this season.
The veteran group brings back nine starters on offense and defense, highlighted by star quarterback Jaylen Mason. A versatile dual threat, Mason threw 24 touchdowns and rushed for nine last season. The University of Kansas commit also picked up nearly 700 yards on the ground, while also throwing for almost 2,000. The Grizzlies also see a strong vet presence on the line, with DeAngelo Williams returning at tackle, Maddox McGinnis returning at guard, and Brock Martin anchoring the offense at center.
