A missing berry picker was located safe in mid-August, several days after he was reported missing — more than 5 miles from where he was last seen.
Harry Lashbrook, 62, was located Aug. 18 at about 4:30 p.m. after he walked to a home on Kalispell Trail Road, over 5 miles from his last seen remote location. Lashbrook was reported missing the afternoon of Aug. 16 while picking huckleberries in the Boyer Mountain area with family.
Lashbrook told deputies that he had lost direction and walked until he found a house. During his second day in the woods, he saw a helicopter three mountain ridges over from his location that appeared to be searching.
