FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Drivers should plan for delays due to two crashes in Virginia and Maryland Wednesday morning. Here's what we know about both crashes as of 7:30 a.m.
In Fairfax county at around 4 a.m., United States Park Police received a report of a tree down on the George Washington Memorial Parkway in the area of Mount Vernon. As officers were on their way to the downed tree, a car crashed into the tree. The tree was blocking all lanes but the crash is cleared. GW Parkway is now open to traffic.
Traffic officials noted that the crash involved an injury but did not say who was involved in the crash or who sustained the injury. The severity of the injury is also not known at this time.
