The Met Office has issued several rain and thunderstorm warnings set to affect parts of the UK over the next 48 hours.

It comes as meteorological autumn officially gets underway, with the Met Office warning that dominating low pressure is set to bring "unsettled" and "changeable" conditions to the UK over the next few weeks.

This "unsettled" weather comes after the UK experienced its warmest summer on record, knocking the previous record of 2018 to second place.

But now, the Met Office has issued several weather warnings affecting large parts of the UK over the next two days.

A yellow rain warning is currently in effect from midnight on Wednesday (September 3) impacting parts of the south of England and Wales. This warning is set to be lifted at 2pm the same day.
