KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Kansas City-area police departments step in to help as the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department honors one of their own.
Officers from Bonner Springs and several other agencies assumed responsibilities in Kansas City, Kan., overnight and into Wednesday morning. They patrolled the city and responded to calls as needed.
The response is a sign of respect for KCK officers and Officer Hunter Simoncic .
Simoncic died after a suspect hit him with a car last week, according to investigators.
