FARGO — NFL scouts have been making their way to Nashville in the last month, and not just to check out the Grand Ole Opry or the bars and restaurants on Broadway. A running back at nearby Tennessee State has their attention.

Kendric Rhymes made good on preseason expectations with 174 yards in the season opener last week in a 24-21 win against North Carolina A&T. That included touchdown bursts of 60 and 51 yards.

“The scouts have come through here and they all want to know more about him,” said Tennessee State head coach Reggie Barlow.

So does North Dakota State, which travels to Nashville this weekend to play the Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Nissan Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Titans. On the flipside, it will be a big game for Rhymes since NDSU will probably be the toughest te
