Police and firefighters are on scene after a plane crashed through a fence at Wheeling’s Chicago Executive Airport.

The plane crashed through a fence on the north end of the airport Wednesday, coming just inches from a roadway near the scene.

NBC Chicago’s Mike Lorber shot video showing the plane after it had crashed through the fence:

Aircraft are not being allowed to take off at the airport due to the crash, including NBC's Sky 5 helicopter.
