COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Areas of the Midlands are set to receive more federal help to continue recovering from severe flooding.
FEMA announced Wednesday that $10.3 million is being approved for the following projects:
$8.2 million to the City of Columbia for restoration of the water and power source that serves half of the city’s residents
FEMA noted this grant is the second in a series of funding obligations for Columbia’s project.
$2.1 million to the City of Sumter for permanent repairs to an agricultural/nature center
FEMA said the funding will help “cover the repair and restoration of critical infrastructure damaged by severe storms and flooding in 2015.”
